Obituary for Arthur "Art" L. Reuber

Arthur L. “Art” Reuber, 80, of Lakeview, OH passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Lima Memorial Hospital.

Art was born on December 4, 1938 in Dayton, OH, a son of Arthur L. and Miriam Hawthorne Reuber. He married Arlene Bruce in 1960 and she preceded him in death in 1997. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Barry.

Art married Suellen Moots on July 29, 2006 at Indian Lake Community Church and she survives. He is also survived by a son, Jeff (Angela) Tegtmeyer of Lakeview, two step-children, Tracey Glover of Jackson Center, OH and Chad Buroker of Lakeview, six grandchildren, Faith Tegtmeyer, Kacie Landis, Sara Barnett, Alyssa Watkins, Grant And Kennedey Glover, three great grandchildren, Kadon and Madison Landis and Anisley Gates, three brothers, Elwood (Beverly) Reuber of Lakeview, Gary Reuber, and Robert (Deb) Reuber, both of Dayton, a sister-in-law, Nancy Reuber of Lakeview, and several nieces and nephews.

Art was a 1958 graduate of Dayton Wilbur Wright High School. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Art retired after 30 years from Chrysler in Dayton. He was a member of Indian Lake Community Church in Russells Point, OH, Indian Lake Moose #1533, and a life member of Doyle R. Miller Amvets Post #39, both in Lakeview. Art was an extremely active Mason. He was initiated and raised in the St. Johns FA&M Lodge #13 in Dayton, and member of Indian Lake FA&M #722 where he was a Past Master, PHP Lafayette Chapter #60, PIM Logan Council #85, Ambassador for the Valley of Dayton, 32nd Degree Mason, Past District Education Officer and Deputy Grand Master of 15th Masonic District, Past Kentucky Colonels Shrine Unit and member of Funsters Shrine Unit. He was also a member of Bellefontaine Order of Eastern Star Lodge #459. Art enjoyed fishing, gardening, watching old western movies and loved being with family.

Pastor Jim Ellington will begin funeral services at 11:00 am, Friday, January 11, 2019 at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St, Lakeview. Visitation is Thursday, January 10th from 2-4 and 6-8 pm with Eastern Star and Masonic Services beginning at 8 pm. Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery with military rites provided by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.

Memorial Contribution may be given in his name to Special Olympics or The Ohio Masonic home.
