Don Edgar DeHaven, 88, a long-time resident of Indian Lake, Ohio, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, September 1, 2018 at Bridge Hospice Care Center at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay, Ohio. Don moved to Primrose Retirement Community in Findlay during July following the death of Eunice Marie DeHaven, his wife of 70 years.

Don was born January 30, 1930 in Findlay, Ohio to Harold and Hulda DeHaven, both of whom are deceased. On December 5, 1948 he married Eunice Marie Ropp in Kenton, Ohio and she passed away June 8, 2018 at their home on Indian Lake. Surviving is their daughter, Dawn (Carey Michael) Palmer of Findlay, Ohio, two grandsons, Dr. Ryan (Michaelle) Palmer of Dublin, Ohio, Sean (Morgan) Palmer of Findlay, Ohio and four great-grandchildren.

Don was a graduate of Hardin Northern High School and early in his life, worked as a telegraph operator for the New York Central Railroad and then served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. After an honorable discharge from the Navy, Don attended the Toledo Barber College and worked as a barber for 43 years. He was the owner of Don’s Barber Shop in Findlay, Ohio until 1997, when he retired.
