Obituary for Charles "Chuck" E. Haynes

Charles E. “Chuck” Haynes, 72, of Russells Point, OH passed away Sunday, December 31, 2017 at his home while surrounded by his family.

Chuck was born on February 5, 1945 in Rosedale, OH, a son of the late John and Erma Morgan Haynes. He was also preceded in death by a son, Tony Haynes, two sisters, Isabella Kauffman and Eileen Hayes, and two brothers, Bill and Phillip.

On January 17, 1969, he married Donna Yeasel in Urbana, OH and she survives along with three children; Bill (Janet) Haynes of Russells Point, Jacqueline (Mikel) Shoffner of Lakeview, OH, and Heidi Haynes Hansen of Marysville, OH, nine grandchildren; Kim (Jason) Stone, Amy Barbee, Charles Mikel (Jacqui) Shoffner, Brandon (Brandi) Davis-Horne, Ryan Shoffner, Bradley (Morgan) Davis, Justin (Tiffany) Haynes, Christopher Haynes, and Drew Hansen, 11 great grandchildren; Austyn, Tristan, Grayson, Owen, Porscha, Kameryn, Payton, Terran, Jaslene, Chasen, and Jazmine, a daughter-in-law; Julie Haynes, longtime family friend viewed by Chuck as a daughter, Mickey (Mark) Shoffner, a sister; Patty (Michael) Rausch of Newark, OH, a brother; Walter (Ellen) Haynes of Mechanicsburg, OH, two sisters-in-law; Ellie Haynes and Marjorie Haynes, and several nieces and nephews.

Chuck was a 7-year veteran of the United States Army serving two tours in Vietnam, serving as a drill sergeant during his last two years and then served 10 years in the Army National Guard. Chuck was a member of the Doyle R. Miller Amvets Post #39 in Lakeview and Harold Kerr American Legion Post #173 in Bellefontaine, OH. His career in injection molding spanned 30 years working at Yeasels, Integrity Plastics and Goshen Rubber. Chuck enjoyed playing his guitar, fishing, hunting and bird watching. He loved the time he spent with his family. Chuck was a cancer survivor and fighter till the end.

Pastor Bryan Meadows will conduct funeral services beginning at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Huntsville United Methodist Church, 6611 Fruit St., Huntsville with visitation from 12 -2 pm. Military honors will be provided by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.

Memorial contributions may be given in his name to the Logan County Veterans Services or Universal Hospice Care, both in Bellefontaine.
